It’s All In Your Mind
Fear. Worry. Anxiety. Regret. These are powerful emotions that all of us experience. The difficult thing to determine is whether or not those emotions are real or not. How many times have you heard the phrase, “It’s all in your mind”? Meaning, it’s not real. It’s just your imagination. Sometimes that is true but other times it’s not.
When it comes to your money, it’s all in your mind. The good, the bad, and the ugly! How we manage our money is based on how we think. Do you spend money based on how you feel? It’s all in your mind. Do you save money so you can be safe and secure? It’s all in your mind. Is your spending related to your status? It’s all in your mind. Our money management is based on our mindset. If you want to make a positive change in the way you manage your money, then you have to change the way you think about money.
Money is a very emotional topic. However, feelings alone cannot help you to change your current money habits. You may be tired of spending more than you make, so you need to change the way you think about your spending and discover why you spend so much. You might be getting older and feel anxious about the fact that you have little or no savings, so you need to look at where your money is going and why you cannot or have not set aside a regular amount for savings. Similar to weight loss, some people look in the mirror or cannot fit an item of clothing and decide it’s time to lose weight. However, it takes more than an emotional moment to make a change. It takes a change in the way you think. Have you decided that you really want to make a change in your current money situation? If so, then you need to make a change and make sure it’s not just in your mind. All the best!
