It’s OK To Have Some Fun!

I have said it before, and I will say it again, “Everyone values money differently.” It is just a fact. Today I would like to talk about those who value money for security. They would have PINK as their Money Color“. They are more likely to have family members and friends come to them for loans. Also, they get frustrated with others who appear to be careless spenders. Needless to say, they are very responsible with their money.

However, they are less likely to shop just for the fun of it. What’s wrong with that? That sounds irresponsible. It depends on how your value money. If you are a careless spender, overspend, and overuse credit; then it is irresponsible. If you have an Emergency Fund, have paid off your debt, and have sufficient funds in your retirement plan; then it is OK to shop just for the fun of it.

It’s OK to have some fun. Many people focus so much time on saving money and preparing for the future that they forget to enjoy life after they have reached their goals. They may grown up with money messages that may have made them fear being broke, so even when they have enough money they still feel like it is not enough. Unfortunately, this thinking leads many to die wealthy without ever having taken the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their labor. Their beneficiaries get to have all of the fun.

While making your financial plan, make sure to leave room for your dreams and some fun. Personal finance is a serious matter but it’s OK to have some fun. You work hard to get the money you are saving and to pay off your debts. Also, you work hard and exercise discipline to achieve your financial goals. Give yourself permission to play hard! It’s OK. All the best!
